Hello and welcome!

Whetley Academy is a larger-than-average primary school, catering for children aged 2 to 11. We are incredibly proud to serve a richly diverse community, with families from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Since 1875, our school has been a springboard for generations of children as they begin their educational journey. Our transition from a community school to an academy has marked the start of an exciting new chapter. As part of Delta Academies Trust, we benefit from strong support that continues to accelerate school improvement—reflected in our ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement in September 2023.

Many of our staff have been with us for many years, which speaks volumes about the positive working environment at Whetley. There is a strong sense of teamwork, morale, and shared purpose across the school. We continuously adapt our teaching approaches to ensure that every learning opportunity is maximised, and our staff are committed to delivering the very best for our pupils.

Our children are exceptional. They make outstanding progress not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. Behaviour across the school is excellent, and we regularly celebrate achievements with rewards such as stickers, dojo points, special visitors, class parties, and school trips.

We are also very proud of our beautiful school building and stimulating learning environment. From the moment you walk through our doors, there’s a sense of warmth and excitement. This helps our children feel happy, safe, and eager to learn.
