    The Year 5 pupils thorouhgly enjoyed a visit from the local police team, to learn about online safety and cyber bullying and the laws of being online.

    The Year 3/4 Whetley Athletics team came 2nd, winning Silver Medals in their recent tournament which involved 16 schools.  Congratulations to you all, that is a fabulous achievement.

  • Snow and bad weather

    In the event of bad weather it is always the priority of the academy to remain open and as such the site team will work to ensure that the site is both accessible and safe.

    There are however rare instances where the academy might not be able to open as normal as a result of severe weather. In such instances any changes to the usual opening arrangements will be communicated by a text system to let parents know if the academy is closed due to bad weather.   • Whetley's Healthy Breakfast Club

    The children and families at Whetley Academy are invited to a free breakfast club every morning (Monday-Friday) between 7.45am - 8.30am.  There is always cereals, toast & fruit available.

  • Delta Debating Competition

    Last week some members of 5SR visited East Garforth Primary school for a debate. There were four schools from Delta in total. The topic we had to debate was, should you change your clothes if people judge you? We came up with some fantastic ideas and great language, but unfortunately we lost to the other team. After listening to the other debates, we have been inspired with lots of ideas for the next time we go to the competition.
