Parent/Carers asked us for the following initiatives in school.

You wanted courses/training to be accessible for parents.

We did

We set up links with a local company to provide IT training for our parents. The training is held on a weekly basis within the school hours at Whetley. We have a group of parents currently completing the initial phase of the course. We are looking into identifying more courses to help our parents gain skills and knowledge in specific areas.

You wanted more progress updates throughout the year.

We did

A new format for reporting progress of individual pupils went out to parents at the consultation meetings at the end of the Summer term. The new format has a system where individual pupils are tracked throughout the year so parents can see their progress as well as their attainment.

You wanted regular newsletters with information for parents on.

We did

A weekly newsletter is sent out to our parents and can also be read on our website. The newsletter informs parents of upcoming events in school and an insight into what their child has done in school the previous week. It also gives parents our attendance percentages for each year group and behaviour records. Whole school messages are on there as well as safeguarding information.
