Welcome to the section of the website where you can find out more about the academy’s EAB and the work that we do. You can also read the minutes from our meetings. The academy has an Education Advisory Board made up of members of the community, parents, staff and Local Authority representatives. There are currently 8 members in total. The Education Advisory Board is responsible for the financial and strategic management of the academy and they meet several times throughout the academic year.
The Academy EAB Chair is Steve Allan
Our main role is to support Senior Leadership Teamand all the staff – the phrase often used to describe this role is ‘a critical friend’. We help them to set and reach targets and to strive for excellence across the whole spectrum of academy life. The two key documents used for this are the Acedemy Development Plan (SDP) and the Self Evaluation Form (SEF). The ADP sets out a three year strategic plan for the school, with targets that everyone works towards and the SEF sets out how well the academy is doing and where we aim to make improvements.
Our legal duties include:-
- setting strategic direction, policies and objectives
- approving the academy budget
- reviewing progress against the academy's budget and objectives
- appointing, challenging and supporting the Senior Leadership Team
There are several categories of EAB member, appointed by different groups that have an interest in the academy. These include Parent, staff and Delta. All EAB members have equal status, however they are appointed.
We are committed to providing an excellent learning environment for all pupils to enjoy during their time at our academy.
Our Education Advisory Board meetings are usually held in the evening. We attend training sessions and seminars to help us keep up to date with changes in academy's and education and to help us do our job effectively. We also go into the academy to meet with the Principal, other members of staff and pupils to help us find out how the academy is progressing towards its targets.
